What these terms cover
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to the MyPiggy website at mypiggyapp.com, the MyPiggy web application, and any MyPiggy mobile application when available (together, the “Services”). The Services are provided by MJS APP DEVELOPERS LLC, a New York limited liability company (“MyPiggy,” “we,” or “us”).
By creating an adult account, purchasing a subscription, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. An adult who creates or authorizes a child account agrees to supervise that child’s use. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.
An educational record, not a financial account
MyPiggy helps families teach children about money. Adults and children can record money added to or spent from a real piggy bank, track a family-entered balance, work toward savings goals, and manage chores and related activity.
MyPiggy does not hold, transfer, or insure your money. An in-app balance is a record entered or generated by your family; it is not a bank balance or a promise that physical cash exists. MyPiggy is not a bank, payment service, debit card, lender, credit bureau, or investment adviser. The Services do not connect a child’s bank account or automatically verify cash kept at home. Adults remain responsible for actual money, allowance, rewards, chore agreements, and decisions within their family.
Educational content, tips, summaries, and responses from a website chat assistant are general information. They are not personalized financial, tax, or legal advice and may need adult review.
Accounts and family roles
Family Organizer. The first adult to create a family is its Family Organizer. The Family Organizer sets up the family, manages access and subscription billing, and may invite guardians and create child profiles. The Family Organizer must be legally able to agree to these Terms and have authority to provide information and authorize a child’s participation.
Guardian. A guardian is an adult invited to a family by the Family Organizer. A guardian can help manage the family using the permissions available in the Parents Portal but does not become the Family Organizer or the subscription payer merely by accepting an invitation.
Child. A child profile is created and managed by an authorized adult. A child uses a child user ID created when the profile is set up and a password to enter the Kids Portal. A child does not need a personal email account to sign in. A parent can reset the child’s password. Child access and actions are subject to family controls and the child’s account status.
Adults must provide accurate account information, keep it current, protect sign-in credentials, and use access only for families and children they are authorized to manage. Do not share an adult account with a child or another person. Contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
Parent and guardian responsibility
The Family Organizer and authorized guardians control child profiles, invitations, chores, goals, and family records according to their app permissions. They should review entries and child activity, decide whether a chore has been completed, and confirm any real-world cash exchange themselves. A child’s entry, goal, or chore claim does not require an adult to pay or transfer money through MyPiggy.
Adults must have the right to create and manage each child profile and provide any consent required by law. If you believe a child account was created without proper authority, email contact@mypiggyapp.com. Our handling of children’s information is described in the Privacy Policy.
Features and family records
The Parents Portal allows authorized adults to manage children, record and review transactions, manage chores and savings goals, view family activity and reports, and use available settings and subscription controls. The Kids Portal lets a child see their own activity and balance, record available money actions, set or update savings goals, and interact with chores as the app permits. Some child actions may require adult review or approval.
You are responsible for the accuracy of entries you and your family make. Keep a separate record of important cash transactions; in-app records may contain mistakes or reflect entries that have not been reconciled with physical cash. Available exports, including CSV activity exports, are tools for your own review. We may add, change, or retire features with reasonable notice when appropriate.
Trials, plans, and billing
A family’s 30-day trial begins when its first child profile is created. The Family Organizer chooses a plan and billing interval for any paid subscription. The plan determines the number of active children allowed; deactivated children do not count toward that limit. To reactivate a child, the family must have an available active child slot. The current price, billing interval, taxes, renewal terms, and cancellation method are shown at checkout or in the applicable billing flow and may differ by purchase channel.
Paid subscriptions renew for the selected billing interval until canceled, subject to the terms presented when purchased. Only the Family Organizer manages the family subscription. Billing is handled by the payment provider used at checkout; if future mobile app purchases are offered, the relevant app store’s billing and cancellation process may apply. A plan change may take effect immediately or at the end of a paid term as displayed in the billing flow. A downgrade requiring fewer active child slots must be made compatible with that limit before it takes effect.
You can manage or cancel a web subscription from the available billing controls in the Parents Portal. If you cannot access them, contact contact@mypiggyapp.com for help. Cancellation stops future renewals; access generally continues through the paid-through date. Applicable refund rights, if any, depend on law and the terms disclosed by the payment channel. Contact us about a billing error.
Access after a trial or subscription ends
If a trial ends or a paid subscription expires or is canceled, MyPiggy may provide a limited grace period before changing the family to Read-Only access. The current product policy provides a 15-day full-function grace period in applicable trial, cancellation, or payment-failure situations. In Read-Only status, family records may remain viewable or exportable while new activity and changes are restricted. Access, retention, scheduled deletion notices, and any restoration options are explained in the app and our Privacy Policy.
Do not rely on MyPiggy as the sole archive of your family’s records. Export any activity you wish to keep while access is available. A payment failure can interrupt or end access if it is not resolved.
Acceptable use
Use MyPiggy for lawful family educational purposes. Do not impersonate another person; enter information you do not have authority to provide; access another family’s data; harass others; introduce malware; interfere with the Services; bypass account controls; scrape the site at scale; reverse engineer protected parts of the app except where law permits; or use the Services to offer financial products or move money on someone else’s behalf.
You retain responsibility for notes, names, and other content entered into your family’s account. You give us permission to host, process, display, and back up that content only as needed to provide, protect, and support the Services under these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Our content and your access
MyPiggy’s software, design, names, logos, and educational materials belong to MJS APP DEVELOPERS LLC or its licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to use the Services while your access is active and in accordance with these Terms. You may not sell, sublicense, or copy our protected materials beyond what applicable law allows. Family records you enter remain your content, subject to the permission above.
Third-party services and website links
Payment processors, identity providers, hosting and email providers, analytics, and support tools may help us operate the Services. Their separate terms may apply when you use their own checkout, sign-in, or sites. The public website may link to third-party resources. We do not control their content or policies. The Privacy Policy describes relevant data practices, including website analytics, contact forms, and chat.
Availability, changes, and account closure
We work to keep MyPiggy available and secure, but maintenance, errors, network problems, or provider outages may interrupt access. We may change the Services or these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights or the Services, we will provide notice as required by law; continued use after the effective date of updated Terms indicates acceptance where permitted.
We may restrict or suspend access to address security, fraud, unlawful activity, or a material breach of these Terms, with notice when reasonably possible. The Family Organizer may request deletion of a family through the available account controls. A deletion request may first place the family in Read-Only status and then lead to deletion after the period described in the app and Privacy Policy. Contact us if you need help before the scheduled deletion.
Disclaimers and responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without promises of uninterrupted access, error-free records, or any particular educational or financial outcome. We do not guarantee that a displayed balance matches cash in your possession. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer law.
To the extent permitted by law, MJS APP DEVELOPERS LLC is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Services. For claims concerning the Services, our aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of $100 or the fees you paid us for the Services during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where your local consumer law requires otherwise. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue. Where a court proceeding is necessary, courts in New York will have jurisdiction to the extent permitted by law. These Terms do not require arbitration or waive a right to bring a class action.
If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement about use of the Services, together with any additional terms clearly presented in a purchase flow.
